Talented IT consultants often find themselves in two positions: either not having enough work, or having far too much. One of the best ways to deal with this problem is networking with your peers.
Mike Knapp of GrowthPoint Group will be hosting an open networking event for IT consultants on February 18th. This is the perfect opportunity to meet other consultants, discuss what works, what doesn’t and possible opportunities to work together.
Last year when we hosted one of these, we had 30+ IT consultants show up. The rules are simple:
– You must be a consultant or short-term contractor in IT. This is not for people with or looking for full-time jobs
– Small service providers (IT professional services) who hire consultants/contractors are allowed
– Help out by spreading the word to a couple of your peers who are also consultants
– Vendors are not allowed
If you’re interested in joining, email [email protected] and include your Linkedin profile, which should clearly show you being a consultant or contractor. Location will be provided.
For those of you who aren’t comfortable “networking”, you’ll find some great tips in my blog series on personal branding. http://www.tech-services.ca/tag/personal-branding
We look forward to seeing you there!
